We are very excited to announce that we have officially opened pre-orders for our newest 3-Map Set for Age of Steam! Event pick-up is also available for customers attending any of the following events: Essen Spiel 2024, Age of Steam Con, Tokyo Game Market 2024 Fall, or Pax Unplugged 2024. Pre-orders will begin shipping in mid-October for US/CAN/EU and worldwide in November.

New Age of Steam map set available at Essen!

This new set contains three unique expansions, with combined player count ranges from 3-6 players. Along with special mechanics for thematic integration, each map brings a unique new twist to the Age of Steam system. In 23 Wards of Tokyo (3-4p), players take on the role of business moguls supplying power to Tokyo’s electrical grid. In this map, special action selection is conducted via dice drafting, with stronger actions receiving lower dice values, limiting building and delivering flexibility. Oita Hot Spring Town (3-5p) sees players attempting to establish the most lucrative onsen resort enterprise by attracting tourists and excavating new hot springs. Hot spring Cities begin the game locked and must be discovered by carefully maneuvering select goods to their required destinations. In The Lost City of Dwarka (4-6p), India’s National Institute of Oceanography dispatches elite diving teams to uncover the secrets of an ancient civilization submerged beneath the Arabian Sea. The map introduces a three-dimensional element to Age of Steam, as players must shuttle artifacts from the sea depths to the surface and back to India; however, if a player’s network routes through the special dual-colored blocking Cities, this becomes increasingly more difficult.

Each of these new maps play in about 120-150 minutes. Each set will include three maps, each in two distinct parts, printed double-sided, in full-color on 11 x 17″ (279 x 432 mm) 80# silk poster cover stock, as well as full-color rule sheet(s) in your choice of English, Japanese, and/or German.

We are proud to announce a unique specialty support product we recently unveiled at the inaugural Splotter Con in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In partnership with Splotter Spellen, it is our great pleasure to announce Roads & Boats Book of Scenarios Volume 1. This book is a true labor-of-love, crafted with intention for maximum utility and interactivity with the worldwide Roads & Boats community. It compiles over 160 unique scenarios thought up by more than a dozen imaginative contributors from the past quarter century. In addition to the scenarios, the book includes: foreword by Joris Wiersinga, table of contents, introduction by the author, detailed usage guide, Jumpstart variant, short treatise in defense of Artwork, new Secondary Producer building type, six sticker pages with extra tiles and new building tokens, tile manifests, pages for notes, and Sterling Babcock’s widely acclaimed player aid.

The book is 8.5 x 5.5″ (216 mm x 140 mm), printed in full-color and contains 57 double-sided pages on 80# silk text, 6 uncoated single-sided label sheets, and double-sided front and back covers printed on 100# silk cover stock, all bound with durable spiral coiling. Each scenario in the book is accompanied by a unique QR code, linking it to a Board Game Geek entry on the Roads & Boats Scenario Discussion Space Geeklist (ID: 341324) for ongoing interactivity with the author and other Roads & Boats players. The book is English only, with translated Foreword in English and Japanese.
